Jake Larson Obituary
He lied about his age to join the U.S. Army in 1938, when he was just 15 years old.
He participated in the D-Day landing, both helping plan the invasion and storming the beach at Normandy, and he went on to fight in the Battle of the Bulge.
Larson is being remembered for his TikTok channel, "Story Time with Papa Jake," which went viral as he told stories of his World War II service.

I learned about you last Memorial Day when I was needing a story to cover for a broadcasting class I was taking in my local college.
I did my segment on Papa Jake and was delighted at his stories and that he had lived in Martinez. Such an honor to have been influenced by him. And so glad I could spread his story to other. He was truly a legend . And honorable men like him are becoming extinct . God bless you and rest in peace your story lives on.

I met Papa Jake on a visit to Normandy on June 2, 2025, about six weeks before he passed away. I will never forget him.

Papa Jake was an amazing man. I found him on TikTok and adored his kindness, and his charm, and appreciated his service not only to our country while in the service, but right up till he left us. On TikTok he taught kids and adults alike how to be a good person and taught us about our country and the military. Thank you Papa you are the Best.
