Thompson, Jake
Sept. 10, 1993 - Aug. 11, 2017
Jake Thompson, 23, of Myakka, passed away August 11, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born September 10, 1993 in Bradenton, the son of Michelle Armstrong and step son of Robby Armstrong. He has two brothers Chase and Sebastian, three sisters, Jessica, Olivia, Brianna and three step sisters Robbi, Leigh, and Kaitlyn. Grandparents are Brenda and Donnie Thompson. A family that were very dear to Jake, who treated him as if he were their son ,Justin and Christine Mizell and their children who were like his siblings ,JJ and Becca. His best friends Justin Ness, Chris Stewart, Clayton Weems & Mike Skelton. Also Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many other close friends .Too many to name but all loved equally and all were a big part of his life. He graduated from Palmetto High School in 2011 and started working as a Specialized Plumber for Sleuth Plumbing Technologies. During the 6 years he worked there, he mastered his craft, became a top leader and the best in his profession. Jake had such a strong work ethic and his discipline to be the best was highly respected and admired. Without a doubt he was a "Hard Working Man." Not only was he admired for his work ethic but for his loyalty to his family and friends, his ability to be profoundly touching and outrageously funny, his love for God and the desire to help others find their way to God. Jake touched so many people with his big smile and big heart. He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler, going mudding, the beach, fishing, skateboarding, dancing and music. Jake could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He created a clothing brand called Mud R Up and it has became very well known locally and across the United States. He was a driven and very passionate young man. Family, friends and others whose lives Jake touched are invited to the West Coast Church, 11750 US-301 Parrish, FL 34219, Saturday August 19th at 11am. to reminisce, grieve and support each other. If you are wanting to send flowers ,the church will be accepting on Saturday between 8-8:30am. There will also be a box at the service for anyone who would like to donate to Jakes chosen charity, Prevent Child Abuse America . Family wants to thank all that loved and cared for Jake, who touched his short lived precious life. Online memorial and guestbook at davidcgross.com. David C.
