Jake Bedford Wren, age 74 of Mohawk, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at his home. Mr. Wren was a member of Mountain Valley Church.
Survivors include two daughters and three sons-in-law; Kathy and James Fry of Mohawk, Vicki and Jay Dalton of Mohawk and Richard Nelson of Mohawk. His grandchildren and spouses; Kimberly Dalton, Derek Fry of Mohawk, James "Bubba" and Tiffany Fry of Mosheim, Billy Joe and Jessica Wren of Mosheim, Joshua Wren of South Carolina, Billy Jo "Pookie" Wren of Knoxville and Wendy and Justin Schedrick of Maryville. His great-grandchildren; Dexter and Jacob Fry, and Mikel Paul Wren, all of Mosheim and Dalton Schedrick of Maryville. One brother; Ted Wren of Elburn, Illinois and one sister; Ailene Shipley of Mohawk. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends; Paul, Diane and Christy Idell of Mt. Carmel and a very special friend and caregiver to the family, Wilma Kesterson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 and 6 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Bulls Gap Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bulls Gap Funeral Home with the Rev. Franklin Barnette, the Rev. Dwain Brewer and the Rev. Buck Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in McCollough Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Derek Fry, Bubba Fry, Phillip Collins, Luther Collins, Billy Wren and Richard Nelson. Honorary pallbearers are Allen, Hurley and Tony.
