Jakira Strong Obituary
MOULTRIE — Jakira Anton Strong, 21, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. John W. Greene Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Chris Bennett, Darnell Slaughter, Chris Hagens, Andrian Whittiker, Eddie Breland Jr. and Courtney Alderman will serve as active pallbearers.
He was born on Nov. 12, 1986, in Moultrie, to John Leon Strong Sr. and Yolanda Hall. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College and was employed with Luke Strong and Son Mortuary.
He is survived by his father, John Leon Strong Sr. and his mother Yolanda Hall, both of Moultrie; three brothers, John L. Strong Jr., Quentin Hall and Dexter Herring, all of Moultrie; two sisters, Annissa Collins and husband Clarence and Tara Bell, all of Moultrie; grandfather, Charlie Hall Sr.; grandmother Eunice Hall; a special friend Tiffany Tatum of Moultrie; a niece, Mo’ Nae Fuller; cousins, aunts, uncles and friends; and classmates of Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 4, from 4 until 8 p.m. at Luke Strong and Son Mortuary Chapel.
The family will receive friends at 824 Sixth St. N.W. in Moultrie.
Luke Strong and Son Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

loss. Words can't express what i'm feeling right now... I had sooooo many plans for my baby brother, my kids & myself for this year and i'll never get the chance to do any of it. But I will leave some words of wisdom for anyone who reads this that has the intentions on making things right with a friend or love one or even if you just have plans to spend more time with someone. Hey friend! I am going to miss all the conversations we had when you told me I sound like your mother. I just want to let you know that I was just being a friend and that I wanted to see you succeed, because I knew that even though you were a fun person you were also a very smart person. It was hard for me to accept the fact that you were gone,but I understand that the Lord needed you with him and I'm sure you will keep a smile on his face just like you did mine. Jakira was in my class at ABAC, where he called himself Luke. He was proud of his work at the funeral home and of his family. "Luke" was full of life and joy, and I will miss seeing him around campus.

I had the honor of teaching Jakira my first two years of teaching school (7th & 8th grade)at WJWMS. I will always remember his smile, sense of humor, and all around great personality. From the moment I met Jakira some years back I could tell that God had a devine plan for him that even he couldn't completely grasp. Jakira was an inspiration to many. He could make what may seem to be the worst situation become a positive experience of life and that was one of very many reasons that I loved him. I know it's hard knowing that he is no longer here and I just can't find the words to express to you how deeply sorry I am for your loss.
