James Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 8, 2024.
James M. Allen, known affectionately as Jim, passed away on July 7, 2024, at the age of 82 in Milton, MA. Born on May 27, 1942, in Boston, Jim spent much of his life dedicated to his work at Northeastern University, where he remained a loyal employee until his retirement in 1999.

Jim had a variety of interests that kept him busy and brought him joy. Quality time with family and celebrating during the holidays always kept him smiling. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending his time at flea markets. His love for war movies and the Three Stooges was well-known among his friends and family, as were his walks and occasional gambling.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Lisa Allen, Lori Mathi and her husband Paul, Leslie Thomas and her fiancé Mike. He also leaves behind his previous wife and friend, Maureen Allen Vietze, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

Services for Jim will be held privately for immediate family members. A celebration of his life will be organized at a later date to honor his memory. Chapman Funeral Home at 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, MA, is assisting the family during this difficult time. Jim's legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him.

This is a fabulous photo of Jim-- showing his true essence!
Jim had a heart the size of Texas.
I so enjoyed working with Jim each and every day of my 19 years in the Housing Office. He knew the stress we were all under, so he made each day such fun with his crazy stories, big smile and wild sense of humor.
He and his wonderful family had a fabulous BBQ for us at their home in the summertime -- oh, such great memories. I send his lovely family big hugs and hope to see them all very soon.
