James Alvin Williams Obituary

Mr. James Alvin Williams, 78, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Clay County Hospital in Ashland. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Bethel North Baptist Church in Delta with the Rev. Clay Lovelady and Dr. Wayne Stevens officiating. A visitation will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rovene Pence Williams; daughters, Darlene Lovelady (Danny) and Anita Freeman (Chuck); six grandchildren, Nicholas Lovelady, Clay Lovelady (Haley), Tiffany Sprayberry (Kenton), Korie Vickery (Adam), Trent Freeman, Macie Freeman; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Chloee, Chalee, Lidiah and Alyvia Lovelady and Jayden and Lana Sprayberry. He is also survived by six sisters, Dorothy Hicks (Cluster), Helen Brown, Mildred Green (James), Ann Salisbury (Jack), Charlotte Stephens, Aletha Jean Traylor and Alice Robeson (Dennis), and two brothers, Dee Williams (Ann) and Bob Williams (Judy), and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Edna Williams; sisters, Ruth Coppock and Audrey Williams; brothers, George Williams, L.J. Williams, Milford "Bill" Williams and James Robert Williams. Mr. Williams was an employee of Tyson Foods as a broiler production manager. He retired in 1996 after 32 and a half years of service. He was a dedicated member of Bethel North Baptist Church and served as an active deacon. He was a man of strong faith in God and served others selflessly. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and Pop. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Clay County Hospital, Lineville Health and Rehab Center in Clay County, Emory Comprehensive Parkinson's Disease Center in Atlanta, Ga., and The Alabama Organ Center at UAB in Birmingham, AL.
