James Ayers Obituary
James "Jim" Oliver Ayers, Sr., age 87 of Clarksville, passed away on September 3, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center.
No service is planned. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory will be in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ayers was born July 12, 1924 in Nashville, son of the late Arthur Earl and Eva Watts Ayers. He was the owner of Jim Ayers Volkswagen. He was a long time member of the Clarksville Country Club, and was an Air Corp Lieutenant during World War II. He was preceded in death by his son, Forrest Earle "Butch" Ayers.
He is survived by his son, James O. Ayers, Jr. of Clarksville; daughter, Lynne Freeman of Brentwood; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Uncle Jim will be grealy missed. I saw the pictures from he birthday and you can still see he the same person. Heaven now has one more great american looking down on all of us still here.

I enjoyed listening to Jim reminisce about his years as a pilot, running his business, riding motorcycles and helping to organize senior golf tournaments. He was an active Clarksvillian! We will all miss him!
