I served in Suwon, ROK with chief Wilke, what a great guy.
October 10, 2015
I run with a group called "Wear Blue: Run To Remember" that remembers the fallen, the fighting, and the families of the military through our training miles and racing miles. I just wanted to express my sadness knowing that I dedicated my 14 miles today for another fallen military member. Oct 10, 2011 was the day he died but today, Oct. 10, 2015, he is not forgotten. Prayers and comfort to his family and friends that miss him so dearly.

I served in texas and Suwon AB with Mr Wilke, he was a great man. I really enjoyed the off-duty hours when we'd fly remote control helicopters around outside the barracks

I did not know James at all but I am a fellow Warrant that wants to reach out to the family and let them know that God has called his child home and my condolences and prayers are with you during your time of mourning. James has not left his family at all, he remains as an angel that is now safe from the troubles of the world and can keep an everlasting hand over his loved ones.
Psalm 27:4-5
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock.

James was a good friend of mine when we were stationed in Italy, I just can not believe that he is gone. I just got back in tough with him about a year ago on Facebook. I have never met anyone as easy and outgoing as he was. I learned a lot from him and he will be truly missed. I still have the dog tag that he gave me.

Dear Wilke family,
I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. James will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms CWO James B. Wilke. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for James. And to James it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while deployed with the U.S. Army at Doha, Qatar. James, you are a brave American Warrior and a true Patriot. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,307 Legionnaire Veterans of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to James’ family and loved ones.
