James Barnewolt Obituary
He was born on October 3, 1957 in Peoria, IL to Walter E. and Charlene R. (Johnson) Barnewolt.
Surviving are his parents, Walter and Charlene of Peoria, three brothers, Martin R. Barnewolt of Peoria Heights, John H. (Barbara) Barnewolt of Brimfield and Daniel Paul Barnewolt of West Peoria, one niece Michelle Barnewolt Greenwalt of Irvine, California and two nephews, Zachary and Kelby Barnewolt of Brimfield
James was a graduate of Richwoods High School and lived in Geneva, Switzerland for seven years and attended the International School. He completed B.D. Holt Co. Dealer Training Service Course and worked as a Welder for many years and last with L.B Autobody in Peoria. Jim loved his two dogs Mercedes and Smoky. Jim was blessed with his close friend and caregiver Dwayne Walker who took care of him in the final months.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 3:00 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers memorial may be made to OSF Hospice Program. Please visit Barney's life story at www.davison-fulton.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with you on this untimely loss. We shared a love for motorcycles and the great outdoors and a real zest of life. It saddened me to learn of this loss. RIP FRENCHY Ill miss you (ITCHY)

To the entire Barnewolt family: I have to leave town tomorrow and will not be able to attend.My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.It is sad that in our hurried life we don't get to spend as much time with our friends as would have liked. Jim will be sorely missed. My prayers go out to him and to those he left behind. Greg

A little story I remember about cousin Jimmy
So I’m in a Waldon bookstore in Urbana Illinois sometime in the 70’s. My friend signs his check and puts a line through the 7. The girl behind the counter comments that’s how I do my 7’s. My friend Karl says he was taught that in Switzerland the girl say that’s were I learned to put the line through the 7’s…. So I’m standing there listening to all this and I finally say “you know the Barnewolt’s”…. she say yea I knew Jim and Dan… when I was in Switzerland……
