In my Fathers house are many mansions and Dr Jim has a new home in one of them ....Good afternoon to Mrs Belfield and family....I just called the office and was told he was no longer there...when I asked more quiestions regards to where can I reached him,...my heart was broken,,,I express my deepest sympathy...I followed Dr Jim from the Plaza location and continued to follow him,My first experience was when I sat in the chair on Belleview and I became so afraid..I was walking out the door..when Dr Jim came and got me...I almost made it back to my car..that is when I knew I had the best dentist.....and we laugh about it every time I came....why he even let me listed to headphones to keep me from being so nervous.
I will continue to keep the Belfield family up in prayer and if there is anything I can help you with...I am only a phone call away,

From the Nolden Family!
We send our condolences and prayers to your family.
My husband and myself were patients of Dr. Belfield. Although we were not able to visit his practice as often as we had hoped, the times we did Dr. Belfield was always happy to see us. He always remembered us...as if we were long, lifetime friends. He will truly be missed by ALL who had the pleasure of knowing him!

Dear Belfield Family-
I just learned of your father's passing. I was a year behind your father in dental school and now live on the East Coast. Although I did not know him well I remember him well. Your father was one of the upper classmen that always wore a friendly smile and made you felt comfortable to approach with a question. He was never just looking after his own skin; if you needed something you could count on him. Remember your father will always be there for you, he is just in another location now.
My condolences at this time and if you always ask yourself, "How would dad handle this situation?", then you will do well.

James Belfield Eulogy
Good morning. My name is Geof Gehring, or as Jim often called meCaptain Fairway
On behalf of the Belfield familyI would like to Thank you for being here to support Jim's family. My heartfelt condolences go out to Kim, Jacob and Hannah, Brother Steve and sisters Dawn and Robin, Carl and Sherri and all of the nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
I want to thank Fr. Mike, Kim's brother Carl and his wife Sherri, Kim's cousins Becca and Robin, Cindy Barnhill, Audra, Mike and Giovanna and especially T. Red for being on Site and on Call for the family this past week.and always. The outpouring of love by friends has been amazing. You are all truly Angels of Mercy!
I loved Jim Belfield. He was my best friend.
You can't help but grow extremely close to a person when you sit next to him in a golf cart, boat, kitchen, winery, restaurant, airplanes and numerable life events for over 20 years.
We shared our dreams, hopes, fears and loves with each other. He constantly used to tell me that he and I were the luckiest 2 guys on earth and that we married way out of our league.
I would always reply: Best sales job ever!
We all have flaws. We are human!... It comes to mind that Jim's biggest flaw may have been choosing me to be his Lake Quivira golf partner for 15 years. Just like Jim, he would rather lose with a friend than win with somebody he didn't know as well. I know a lot of you guys out there were Jim's golf buddies and understand this well.
When I think of Jim's life, several words come to mind to describe it:
Passionate
Meticulous
Clutch
Loving
Passionate: Passionate about living life. Always learning and constantly moving forward. He likened himself to a shark. Always movingalways moving forward
Meticulous: Meticulous about his craft, his dentistry his golf game and his appearance. Perfection was the only acceptable result.
Clutch: Whether it was sinking a tournament-winning putt or being there when friend or family needed his help, you could depend on Jim to be there when you needed him most
Loving: This is where Jim excelled. He loved God, His wife, his children, his family, his employees, The Mules, his friends and Cathy Owens cooking. but who doesn't enjoy Cathy's cooking?
The one story I would like to share with you is when Jim and I were playing in a Member/Member golf tournament at Lake Quivira. We were so excited. We had won our flight and we were playing in the championship derby.
We had survived our way to the final pairing which just happened to be against a neighbor I had some issues with. I will refer to him as the feuding neighbor.
Anyway, we were on the final hole and I teed off and horribly sliced my drive in to another fairway.
feuding neighbor hit his drive right down the middle. Jim then hit an incredible shot that put us back in to our fairway about 140 yards out.
feuding neighbor's partner hit a nice shot up the middle and was lying about 160 yards out from the green.
feuding neighbor was preparing to hit next, and Jim looked over at me and said I know what you are thinking.
I said your darn right I want him to hit it in the water.
feuding neighbor then promptly hit his shot in to the water.
We easily won the hole and the tournament and as we climbed into the cart to drive home, Jim looked at me and said, Can you forgive your neighbor now?
I forgave my neighbor and felt better for it - having let that negative energy go.
That was JimClutch and the bigger man. taking the high road, forgivinghelping me be a better man.
T. Red forwarded me an email from Jim's brother Steve, and it really sums up how all of us feel about Jim. I quote:
I've been going through our joint texts all day. I really enjoyed them, and although they were infrequent, they were real. they show Jim's love, wit, humor, sharpness and his wanting to stay in touch. I enjoyed how he wasn't afraid to laugh at himself, not afraid to wade in to solve anyone else's problems. That was Jim in a nutshell.
I am experiencing the shock and numbness of losing Jim, I am thinking of all the moments spent with Jim, and I was inspired by his life and love. This week many thoughts, feelings and emotions have come over me and I feel Jim wants me to share them with you today.so I wrote this poem:
True Wealth
Is not in the things you collect. But in the souls you connect
Wealth is not how many people's money you carry in your walletBut how many people carry you in their heart
The admission price to heaven is not expensive. But love is the only currency accepted to pay the entry fee
Only the love you give away during your time on earth. Will be saved and used for you as your entry fee to Heaven
The only thing you take with you when you die is the love you gave away.
Love is the currency of eternity.
I could stand up here and tell stories about Jim for hours, and I know many of you have countless stories of great moments with Jim. Please take a moment over the next couple of months to write down those stories and share them with Kim, Jacob and Hannah so they have a loving, living testament to their husband and father, and my hope is that they can feel the love he shared with all of us.
Of all of Jim's accomplishments on the golf course and in life, nothing made Jim's chest puff out with more pride than when he talked about his children. He was extremely proud of the wonderful young adults they had become. He looked forward to watching them as they went through life. He will be watching down on you from heaven.
I leave you with these final thoughts:
Plan for the future - but live in the present
We all have an expiration date - but none of us knows when it is
Live each day for the gift that it is.
And make deposits each day into the savings account that is heaven, by continually filling the vaults of others hearts with Love!
God Bless you Jim Belfield. Your heavenly account is paid in full.
Captain Fairway Out!

Dearest Kim, I just found out last night from my brother Bill McGuff that your husband passed away last week. We were just sick! I told Bill I had just met your beautiful daughter last summer when I saw her in the Stratford Place neighborhood. Kim I'm heartbroken for you and your son and daughter. Your husband sounded like a really great guy. This is a lot to bear with your sweet Moms death just a year ago. I don't live at Stratford anymore but a neighbor from their that I keep in touch with told me about your mom. I was surprised and so sad. I really enjoyed getting to know your mom better while I lived there. Kim, I will be thinking and praying for you and your family. All my love, Marianne McGuff

Although we didn't know Jim very well, we always enjoyed seeing him at Lake Quivira when we visited our friends T Red and Geof. He always had a warm and ready smile and greeted us as though we'd known him all our lives. He was funny, friendly and so kind. The photos are a wonderful tribute to Jim's life and it's apparent that he was loved by many and happiest when he was with his family. We are deeply saddened for your loss Kim, Jacob and Hannah, and you are in our hearts and prayers. Bridget (Lanning) and G.Brown

I'm still in disbelief that Dr. Belfield will no longer be smiling in his office and greeting patients as friends. We started our relationship with him when my oldest daughter was 3...she's getting ready to turn 21. My favorite memory was when my youngest went in for her six month checkup... she was about 4. She was mad because "the guy with the funny glasses" wasn't there that day. She was insistent that i make him come there...he was on vacation. He will be truly missed. To the Belfield family, thank you for sharing him with us!

I met Jim while attending my first Seattle Study Club Symposium in Naples, Fla. in 2007. We became immediate friends, sharing dinner, golf, drinks, dental trade secrets, and lots of laughs. I always looked forward to seeing Jim at the next symposium and when I didn't make it to one, he would be texting me, harassing me about having no one to hang with! Not Jim, everyone was his friend! We talked of our families and how they were the most important and cherished passions in our lives. even though we only were together a few times over the last 9 years, I will always cherish his friendship. I will miss the Holiday texts he sent to us as well as his share of bad humor. Heaven has received a great man. Love and prayers to all his family. Paul Lounsberry, Jr. DDS. Austin, Tx

Jim was a man of true character who radiated happiness, and took a genuine interest in everybody he came across. Dr. Belfield was our family dentist for 23 years. Our adult son, Eric, moved away 8 years ago, but scheduled all of his dental visits for when he would be home, so that he could stay with Dr. Belfield, seeing him last just 3 weeks ago.
Dr. Belfield never failed to ask about my family, and with the tiniest of prompting would brag about his own children.
Our deepest condolences to the family on this tragic loss.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. We met at Pitt State while he was a Lambda Chi and I was a Tri-Sig. I didn't know Jim well but I remember him being kind and fun to be around. I enjoyed looking at your photos. It was obvious that Jim lived life to the fullest, loved his family and was very happy. I pray your memories will comfort you and your loved ones in the hard days ahead ~ Sincerely, Chrissy Taylor

I met Jim in Las Vegas at a Dental Conference many moons ago. He was funny, talented and had an amazing personality that lit up the room. He talked of his family and Dental Team. We remained friends on a professional level and discussed Dentistry, family and life ...I loved getting a Call from Jim wanting to toss around a marketing idea for the practice or to talk about a staff member issue he needed to resolve. I found him to be a kind human, a real gentleman, and a gift to his profession, and to many who spread across the miles...I am so, so incredibly sad for your loss. I hope you all find comfort in knowing he touched SO many lives in a positive way. May your love and hugs help to heal one another. God Bless you all.

Like many others, our hearts are broken. What a devastating loss to family and friends, the community and the dental profession. We knew Jim through his attendance at our Seattle Study Club dental meetings. We loved his easy laughter and "larger than life" persona. He absolutely was a charming Southern gentleman. He could be irreverent one minute and deeply soulful the next. Just an all around great guy that we will miss immensely. Our sincerest condolences.

I'm so saddened by the loss of Dr. Belfield. I enjoyed each time I visited his office and made it a point of scheduling my appointments when I would be visiting in Kansas after moving to Arizona. He was always so cheerful and affable. Prayers to his family, friends and staff for their loss. He will be missed.

Ours prayers and sympathies are with the Belfield family. We love you and pray for each one of you. Each one of us are feeling the loss of Jim in different ways. Jim had so many roles in the lives of us all. Though my Mom and I cannot come to say our final farewells to Jim. Just know that all of you will be in our thoughts and prayers during this sorrowful time. We will see him again. We which are on earth are the ones who grieve.
