It Is with sadness, many years after jim passing that I pass along my codolences to Marion
I googled Jim this evening as I was looking at some pictures from my days working on the Norman Wells to Zama pipeline and spent countless hours flying beteen fort Simpson and Norman wells with jim (1978 to 1985 when jim was the base manager in Fort Simpson)
I have flown with a lot of great pilots over the years but my time flying and socializing with jim and Marion were some of the most enjoyable times - we flew in some challenging weather conditions but always felt safe with jim always enjoyed conversation and good humour
Always willing to help I have a picture of jim helping us open up an ice bridge across a creek in the Camsell Bend area south of wriggley captioned Okanogan Pilot develops new ditching technique for northern pipelines!!!
A lot of great fishing trips and stories of which most I assumed to be true!!
A great human being and expert ever accommodating pilot

As a young man I had the privilege of flying with Jim on numerous occasions when he was based in my home town of Fort Simpson , NWT. He was an extremely gifted pilot and I always felt completely safe in his hands. My deepest condolences to Marion and their children. Please pass along my email address to Marion. [email protected]

What a shock to learn of Jim's passing. During our years at "The Wells" Jim felt like family. He always had time to chat, help out, troubleshoot, have fun ! So young... Ken and I send our deepest condolences to you, Marion, Chris and Mariette.

My memories of Jim go back a very long way....when we were kids at Morice River Camp - my brother Fred and I along with Jim and Mike. We were very close and spent many hours together. In later years, life took us in many different directions, but we always remained in touch. I admired Jim as a man who got things done, always with a joke and a laugh. His attention to family was a joy to watch, including his own immediate family and his devotion
to them. Add to that, his love of his extended family gave true meaning to the word 'family' his sense of duty to his parents and his care for the rest of us. You will be missed, Jim, by all of us.
Much Love and condolences to Marion, Chris and Mariette and their families.

Always liked joking around and having fun, a few years ago Him and I got out of hand lighting fireworks in my dad's back yard, we ended up burning holes in my dad's new lawn chairs...that was my fault but we sure had fun. Always had breakfast cooking when we went camping. I remember the first time we rode in the helicopter to go fishing and he helped me catch my first fish, I think I was 6 years old. Going to miss you uncle Jim

My dad was truly my hero and friend. Words are not enough to express the loss we feel. Dad made so many friends, always worked hard for the family, flew with great skill to so many places, saw so much beauty - and my mom, sister and I were lucky enough to be along with him in his time here.
