James Patrick Buffum was born in Pisgah, Iowa, on December 29, 1951, the son of James A. and Norma M. Buffum. He graduated from Logan-Magnolia High School in 1971. After which he enlisted in the service and was honorably discharged in 1973. Jim and his wife, Diane Leigh Buffum, were married in Logan, Iowa, and had been together 38 years. He was a Firefighter for the Council Bluffs Fire Department for 28 years, retiring in 2007, after which he and his wife moved to Arkansas. Jim enjoyed working with wood and could build just about anything he set his mine too. He also liked to hunt and play golf.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James A and Norma M. Buffum.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Arkansas; daughter Christina Marie Buffum, (Marc Stark); son, Anthony James Buffum, both of Council Bluffs; 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Jared and Jason; 2 sister, Carolyn Buffum and Katherine Rauert.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time with the date to be announced.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Lots of memories of us growing up and being at Grandpa & Grandma Buffum's every Sunday for dinner. All of his cousins knew him by Jimmy.
