James Calder Obituary

CALDER, James William "Bill" At home in Dunvegan, on June 12, 2018. Bill Calder passed away peacefully after a six year battle with cancer that he had accepted stoically. Born in Lachine, Quebec July 18, 1941. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret 'Peggi' Calder (nee Racey) and children Byron (Samantha Schofield) and Kathie (Steve Nunn); as well as grandchildren Corra and Hanna Nunn and step-grandson James Weller. Bill is survived by his brothers Murray (Didi) and R.L. Calder and their families. Son of the late John William and Susan Calder (nee Murray), originally from Cape Breton. Bill spent over 40 years in the HVAC industry, as well as training and teaching. Cremation has taken place and a gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Bill's life. Arrangements under the care and direction of the Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). As expressions of sympathy Memorial Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, North Glengarry Branch, c/o Sylvia Crack, 82 Jean Street, Alexandria, Ontario, K0C 1A0 would be appreciated by the family. As a Memorial to Bill, a tree will be planted in a memory woods. A tree grows-memories live. Condolences may be made online at www.munromorris.com.
