James J. (Jim) Carmody

Belleair - James J. (Jim) Carmody has died. He was 92. He died in Belleair, Florida, 5/9/2024.

He was predeceased by his parents, James A. and Lydia Carmody, and his sister Betty and brother Donald.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, March 19th, 1932, Jim attended St. Joseph's Prep, Philadelphia, PA.

Jim was also predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret. Jim and Peg met as children in Audubon, New Jersey, and were married for 68 years. Their love story continues to inspire their family and friends.

In addition to his love for his "Peg", Jim's life has been devoted to his family and church.

Jim is survived by his children: Elaine Gibson (husband Frank and daughter Kendall), James P. Carmody (Wife Debbie, son Matthew and daughter Jillian), Gary M. Carmody (wife Jennifer, sons Sean, Andrew, Daniel, Timothy, Michael and daughter Megan) and Stephen G. Carmody (wife Debra and daughters Charlotte and Miranda)

Jim has also been blessed with an ever-growing number of great grandchildren.

For many years, he was a member of Christ the King church in Haddonfield and the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light in Cherry Hill. He also regularly attended services at St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Gibbsboro.

A viewing will take place at 10am, June 15th at Christ Our Light church, in Cherry Hill, N.J., with a funeral mass to follow at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) (1-800-447-3986).
