When Orlando and I were planning our wedding in 2017 we were not with a specific church at the time and Katie said... what about my dad?!? We immediately without hesitation said OMG yes! Having Don officiate our wedding and bless our marriage is something we cherish everyday. Don Juan ( as) Orlando calls him) and Orlando had a bond from day one of playing beer pong in the garage and talking about the Astros and the Chewnings took me in as family. We will miss you tremendously.

Crossroads Fellowship

We had the distinct pleasure of knowing Don through our fellowship at Crossroads church here in Houston. We came to know both Don and Renee while Don was going through his treatment. Having them over at our home, enjoying my wife´s Cuban food and more importantly true fellowship in the Lord.

Don was a special guy a man of God that carried his faith in a quiet confidence, that we came to know. I told Don not to long ago that he was a source of inspiration to me, as to the grace of God that he had displayed while going through his illness.

He has gone onto his reward to a place where there is no more pain or sorrow. We will not forget you my friend and we will see you again!

Prayers over his family and our dear friend Renee. Comfort and peace be with you.

Renee was my wedding coordinator and Katie was my flower girl. Don would tease me all the time about marrying someone from Texas and would `moo´ at me every time he saw me-even at the wedding rehearsal.

Don was a dear friend and one of the coolest guys you could ever know. He was always jovial and sincere at the same time. He loved Jesus, so I know we as believers will rejoice with him some day.

Donnie was like a brother to me. Through the years we shared times together with family, friends, and ministry. We would get together and watch southern gospel videos for hours, laughing and crying together. I will miss the mornings sharing coffee and conversation, getting together for pancakes at Denny´s. I will miss hearing, "l love ya, Bud." You were a special man and I was blessed to have you in my life. I know you are now in that heavenly home and all I ask is for you to save me a place at the table. I´ll see you again my friend!

I will miss our Denny´s pancake meals together. You fought a good fight my friend and you have now won your eternal prize. I will miss you deeply Bud but I´ll see you again. Save a place for me at the table!

I will miss Don, he was a good friend and mentor. We traveled for business often, and always had lots of fun and laughs. Something people may not know is that he would occasionally break out singing something he was totally making up on the fly, usually about something mundane happening around him. It occasionally rhymed but always made me laugh.
