With Heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James William Christensen a lifetime resident of Duluth MN.
Jim passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 while in the care of the Benedictine Health Center.
Jim was born in Superior, WI to Lucille and Leslie Christensen. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lorraine Guenther.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Regina Collins Christensen, and his children Lisa Tormondsen, Kevin (Erin) Christensen, Eric (Monica) Christensen, and Tom (Kari) Christensen, his loving grandchildren, Olivia, Cambelle, Kennedy, Everly, Stella, Jack, Elsa, Addie, and Mira; including two siblings, Larry(Patty)Christensen and Jeanette (Bob) Martimo, as well as extended family members, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews who will miss him profoundly.
Jim was an Environmental Safety Manager for LaBounty Manufacturing in Two Harbors MN and retired in 2008.
Jim had a broad range of interest which included being an amateur ham radio operator since 1982, an avid weather researcher/observer, an avid UMD hockey and Vikings football fan. His greatest interest was photography. He loved being out in nature and photographing wildlife, which many can attest to his accomplished skill in photography.
Jim had an immense presence; he was a kind man to all and a friend to many. As we move forward, we take comfort in knowing that Jim is no longer in physical pain. Jim's legacy will be permanent in the hearts of those he loved and the many memories of Jim we will cherish forever.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the third floor, Benedictine Health Center staff and the Essentia Hospice staff for their compassionate care of Jim.
A memorial service will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota ,Grand Ave. in Duluth on Friday, August 15, 2:00 p.m. Visitation. 3:00p.m. Remembrance time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Cancer Research for Children (Jim's) favorite charity or a charity of your choice.
