W.A. (Dub) Cantrell Pickens, SC W.A. (Dub) Cantrell, 61, of 259 Montvale School Road, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008. Born in Pickens County, he was the son of the late Perry F. Cantrell and Pansy Townes Cantrell. Mr. Cantrell was the former owner of Cantrell�s Grading. He was also a former employee of Alice Manufacturing Company (Arial Plant), and was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Surviving are his wife of the home, Linda Cassell Cantrell; a daughter, Roslyn C. Holcombe and her husband, Chris, of Pickens; two sons, Reggie Cantrell and his wife, Jennifer, and Richard Cantrell and his wife, Stacy, all of Pickens; two granddaughters, Abigail (Abby) Holcombe and Maggy Holcombe; and three sisters, Pansy Janette Smith, Patsy Julia McConnell and Nancy Ann McConnell all of Dacusville and Rebecca Joyce Lay of Pickens. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lilly Mae Miller; and a brother, Perry Boyce Cantrell. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Dillard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 1:30 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial to follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Honorary Escorts will be the Men of Mountain Grove Baptist Church. Flowers accepted, or memorials may be made to Mountain Grove Baptist Church, 644 E. Preston McDaniel Road, Pickens, SC 29671. The family will be at the home of Chris and Roslyn Holcombe, 3020 Moorefield Memorial Hwy., Pickens, SC 29671.
