James L Cross

Winters - James Lynn Cross, born on November 11, 1952, to the late JL "Sonny" & Thelda Cross in San Angelo, Texas, left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1976, where he was a proud member of the Kappa Psi fraternity. Shortly after, he married the love of his life, Diane, in Austin, and together they raised three children-Steven, Nicole, and Amanda-who shared his passions for lake life, the Texas Longhorns, and animals.

As the owner of Main Drug Co. in Winters, Texas, James dedicated much of his pharmacy career to serving the local community. He was actively involved in the Lions Club, the Housing Authority, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, reflecting his commitment to helping others.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Diane; his son Steven and wife Karla of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter Nicole and wife Jo of Plano, Texas; daughter Amanda and husband Wesley Hall of Buda, Texas; sister Lynda and husband Paul Waldrop of Brownwood, Texas; brother Jerry and wife Kim Cross of Irving, Texas; and sister Becky and husband Steve Hudson of Lampasas, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren-Kennedy, Jayden, Nolan, and Makenzie-as well as many other cherished family members.

A true role model, James was easy to look up to. His patience, kindness, and understanding touched everyone he encountered, both personally and professionally. His love for his grandchildren was boundless; he made it a priority to attend their sporting & cheer events, birthdays, and holidays, never wanting to miss the important moments in their lives. James will be remembered for his unwavering support and the joy he brought to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

At this time, the family has requested no flowers to be sent. Please memorialize James Cross by donating to the charity of your choice. The family is planning a service to honor James that will be announced at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of West Central Texas Cremation, Abilene.
