It was a great pleasure to know Jim and to work for him. He was a great supervisor and mentor to me. He was always kind, supportive, and very helpful. It was truly a joy to know Jim. Our prayers and thoughts for comfort are with you.

I was so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. I always enjoyed seeing him and talking about radios with him. You have my deepest sympathy.

I was privileged to get to know Jim over several years in the workplace and found him to be a great manager, technologist and honorable friend. His warmth and kind spirit will be rembered and greatly missed.

It was such a blessing to have known Mr. Deterding and to have shared so many fun times with the two of you, Emilie and Tim. The picture in the obituary reminds me of his great smile and sense of humor and the sweet spirit he possessed. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him!

I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Deterding's passing. I will always remember his smiling face, soft voice, his kindness, and the wonderfully sweet 'tolerance' of a couple teenage girls just having fun whenever I visited at you home in Amberly.
