After a long battle with Parkinson's, Jim passed away peacefully in Montreal on July 6, 2016, in his 84th year. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend Janet (née Aird). He was a loving father to Hugh (Karen), Geordie (Lisa) and Marnie (Henri) and a doting grandfather to Ross, Grace, Nicole, Alexander, Jamie, William, Maggie and Sarah. A proud member of the Lower Canada College teaching staff for 32 years, Jim will also be greatly missed by friends and family in Montreal, Georgeville and Fitch Bay. Younger brother to his sisters Sue, Georgia and Jackie, Jim was born in Montreal, Quebec, son of Mary Richardson Douglas and George Francis Dimock. A celebration of Jim's life will be held in late summer. Details will follow in a second announcement.

Jan, Hugh, Geordie & Marnie,
Jim's passing brings to the foreground so many wonderful, cherished shared memories from LCC, your beautiful cottage where we enjoyed a number of staff golf outings plus one summer at Camp Nominingue. I will remember Jim as a hard working decent individual who got the most out of his students in the classroom and on the hockey rink. His focus was never on himself but on how to make life better for others.I am very sad to know that he has left us but am confident that he made a positive impact on the lives of a large number of LCC students.

My sincere condolences to the Dimmock family. He was an excellent teacher, solid, fair and willing to help wherever needed.

But imagine my surprise seeing him as one of the can-can dancers in the fossils for a number of years!! So he clearly had a good sense of humour that many students didn't get to see in School.

We were lucky to have him.
