James "Eddie" Lanier Obituary
Eddie was born June 9, 1987 in Cartersville, the son of Jimmy Lanier and Zina Stancil Lanier and was an Eletrician.
Surviving is his father and stepmother, Jimmy and Sheila Lanier, his mother, Zina Lanier, two sisters, Stephanie Lanier and Jaime Gantt , 2 brothers, Zachary Lanier and Josh Gentry, his fiance', Kayla Akens, his grandparents, Tommy and Nancy Lanier and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Danny May officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Zach Lanier, Josh McGaha, Josh McCloud, Ben Stiles, Josh Gentry, Catlin Kensey, T.J. Hawkins and Michael Harrison.
Family members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Arrangements under the direction of Owen Funeral Home (7131), Cartersville, GA.

Well here's a brand New Year for us Eddie, but it will never be the same for our family. We all miss you and are trying so hard for Nana and Datdaddy, Jimmy and Shelia, Kayla, Jaime, Josh, Stephanie, and Zach. You were and still are one fine young man. Every where we look we see you. One day we will all be together again. Just keep a look out, we won't let you down. Tell Jesus to watch over us and bring us safely home. I love you my sweet nephew.

Eddie always had a smile on his face. I knew him for 2 years and not once did I ever see him without a smile! He was a good friend to everyone he met, made the best out of life and loved his family with all of his heart. He really lived!!!!!! He was an extrodinary example of what life is really about!!!

I only met Eddie several times and went fishing once, but was impressed with how easy it was to be with and like him. No matter what was going on he was in a good mood and frame of mind. I will miss not getting to know him better.
