Erdman, Mr. James A. Saginaw Township, Michigan James A. Erdman was called home to his Lord on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at HealthSource Saginaw. Age 79 years. Jim was born on March 9, 1927 in Minden City, MI to the late Arthur and Esther (Klaus) Erdman. Jim married Phlavion Popp on January 16, 1960 in Saginaw, where she survives him. Prior to his retirement, Jim was employed at Michigan Bean for 30 years and Auburn Bean and Grain. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith. Jim was an original board member of Valley Lutheran High School and the Building Committee. Surviving besides his wife, Phlavion are their children, Jon Erdman, Millington; Joel Erdman and his fiancée, Tammy Weisend, Saginaw; three grandchildren, Bethany, Kristin and Andrew Erdman; brother and his wife, Bob and Jan Erdman, Minden City, MI; many nieces, nephews. Jim was predeceased by his daughter, Marceline Erdman. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2006 at St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith, 1664 Amelith Rd, Bay City. The Rev. Stephen P. Starke will officiate with burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., then at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those wishing to express their sympathies are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. John Lutheran Church and School or Valley Lutheran High School Athletic Deptartment.
