There are those who continue to light up the world long after they have gone.
Always in our hearts, Jim.

it is 5 years after Jim's passing and I have only just found out about him.
Jim was an amazing, gifted man. His beauty in his art and his spiritual connections always had me in awe. I met Jim thru a mutual friend, Lynn Cibula and will always cherish the times spent with him.
I, along with our other friends, are so sadden to hear of this.

So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We were good friends when we both went to Pitt together for studio arts. He was such a great artist and so fun. I had no idea he had an art studio in Homestead, he wanted something like that when we went to Pitt. May he rest in peace. Sarah Neiger Perry

I was Jim's art teacher for many years, and found him to be the most gifted and talented person that I have ever taught. (and I taught 1000's.) I recognized his talent from when he was a child, and tried to encourage him until he was an adult. Jim was so incredibly gifted, and a truly humble and gentle man.
He brought beauty to the world. He lived and breathed his art and produced so much for us to continue to gaze upon and enjoy after his passing. He loved nature, and captured so many images, that no one else could envision with his color choices, style, and design.
He was impeccable in his craftsmanship, quality, and care of his finished product. I was overwhelmed with his vision. He became a true friend of mine.
I am devastated at his loss. I will truly miss his hearty laugh, his stories, his joy of life and animals, and his genuine, very sincere persona.
A rare and special, talented young man.
He was taken from this world much too early.
God Bless you Jim. Love, Mrs. Murray

I went to Pitt with Jim, albeit a few years behind him. He was the artist we all strove to emulate. His art always had meaning and was beautiful. An extension of himself. Nicest guy and always willing to help someone like myself who valued his technique and advice. Rest easy Jim.

I am heartbroken at the loss of my dear friend. Our friendship bridged a 23-year span, and in many ways we were more like brother and sister. The world will be a bit less beautiful with his passing. There was so much more he wanted to create. He surrounded himself with beautiful art and took great joy in teaching and creating it for others. I will miss his sense of humor and hearty laugh, and the way his face lit up each time he opened the door. He was such a gentle soul. His memory will live in my heart forever. Blessings and deepest condolences to his family.
