Mr. James Goodson

Mr. James Goodson, 73, of Angel Drive, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the widower of Arllin (Collier) Goodson. Mr. Goodson was born December 8, 1948 in Darlington, SC a son to the late Lee Goodson and Annie Louise Stevenson. "Bo Goody" as he was called, relocated to Waterbury in 1955 where he resided until his passing. He was educated in the Waterbury public school system where he graduated Wilby High School. In his early years he worked for various companies and owned his own cleaning business. For several years he also worked for Uniroyal. "Bo" had a love and passion for music. He became Waterbury's first Black DJ to work for a major radio station, 88.7. He enjoyed every genre of music and had crates of it. His other love was that of photography. He loved taking photos of anyone that would stand still for him and smile. "Bo" also loved painting and fishing which he found it to be very relaxing. James leaves to cherish his memories, four children; James Glover, Anthony Burrus both of New Haven, Kelly Jordan of Waterbury and Chezrae' Goodson of Wolcott, eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren, two sisters; Alice Wright and Barbara Henderson both of Waterbury, one brother; Stacey Goodson of SC, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by siblings Dorothy, Delores, Geraldine and brothers, Lee Jr., Jayb and Henry Goodson.
