James R. Goodwin Sr.

Memorial services for James Richard Goodwin, Sr., 80, of Tyler, TX, will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Kevin Burdette officiating. A private burial will occur prior to the memorial service under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Goodwin passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Meadow Lake Senior Living. He was born December 29, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to CG and Daisy King Goodwin.

Mr. Goodwin was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church where he sang in the Highest Praise Choir and volunteered in the WIN Ministry. He graduated from Louisiana Polytechnic College, now Louisiana Tech. Mr. Goodwin held the position of Project Manager for Howe Baker for 10 years before becoming self-employed with VME Fabricators until he retired.

Mr. Goodwin was preceded in death by his father, CG Goodwin; mother, Daisy King Goodwin; sister, Jeanette Goodwin and daughter, Vicki Lyn Hart. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 59 years, Linda B. Goodwin; son, James Richard Goodwin, Jr. and wife Tina; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Cecil Goodwin and wife Nell; and two nephews.

Visitation is scheduled immediately after the memorial service on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
