James and I worked together at the then New England Medical Center. He was great, knowledgeable, friendly. I missed him as did the medical center when he went to BI. He was a good friend and colleague.

So sorry to hear of Jimmy's death. I haven't seen him since I was a little girl and visited his family when they lived on Prospect St in Cambridge. Jimmy was my mom's first cousin...she died in May of this year. My grandmother (Mary McNally) and his mom were sisters. It's sad to lose touch with family. I will add Jimmy and his family to my prayer list. Patti (Lee) Casey

I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Jim Grayson, who I came to greatly admire when we worked together at Tufts Medical Center. Jim was a senior financial administrator of grants and contracts, a position that put him into continual contact with many biomedical scientists who were interacting with research funding agencies such as the National Institutes of Health. He was an exceptional steward for me and for scores of my colleagues, always making himself available for consultation and badly needed budgetary and other grant application advice. This was of immeasurable value to us all.
In yet another way I knew Jim and Mary Ann was how they together addressed with unalloyed, loving attention the needs of a family member treated at our Hospital. Once again, Jim's warmth, elegance and generosity were always in evidence, and his calmness and steadiness was remarkable.
Persons of his quality are rare, and he will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew him, and worked with him side by side.

I am sorry to her of Jim's passing. He was a wonderful mentor and always found the funny side. So many times practical jokes were played at work and he would laugh for days. He will be truly missed.

Jim was my big brother and protector. From the time we were little kids until after we both reach our current ages, he was always there for me. Our Sunday evening phone calls will be missed. Rest well my dear brother, you have earned it. I love and miss you.

Jim was my boss and friend for many years in and around Boston
I can honestly say he did a lot for my career which we both enjoyed despite being subject to budgetary restrictions at every hospital stop we ever made!

Jim was my oldest and dearest friend. We have known each other for over 65 years. We bowled, partied, fished, and, in the later years, stayed in touch, by getting together with our wives for periodic dinners, including spending every "New Year's Eve" together.
I must say that Jim was the "GLUE" that held our close group of friends together for many, many years.
Jim will be sorely missed...I must, emphatically, iterate several facts about Jim, as a rare and unusual, caring human being. Of all the friends that I have ever had; I cannot remember a single instance where he was ever vulgar, angry, intoxicated, or, in any way, offensive. He was famous for his humor, and jovial manner. This will be.. forever, his legacy to all his many friends
.
I loved you,"JIMBO"...
Your buddy, forever
