James Raymond "Hank" Griffin Sr.

James Raymond "Hank" Griffin Sr. of Centerpoint passed from this life Saturday, February 17, 2018 in Tulsa, while surrounded by his family. He was 89 years old. Hank was born Friday, December 14, 1928 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to Ervin David and Hattie Pauline (Massey) Griffin.  He married Velma Penner on December 23, 1963 in Orange, TX. Hank was very outgoing and loved to make people laugh and loved a good prank. He enjoyed drinking coffee and telling stories to anyone he could get to listen. Hank loved tinkering on old cars and more than anything he loved his family, especially having his grandchildren around. He is preceded in death by his parents and he was the last of his siblings. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his wife of 54 years, Velma of the home, his children; James and Annesia Griffin of Centerpoint, Barbara and Ronnie McCarty of Centerpoint, Samuel Griffin of Antlers, Gary Wayne Griffin of Homney, Rebecca and Vance Moore of Anna, TX., James David "Jimmy" Griffin of Oregon, Larry and Candy Griffin of Oregon and DeAnna Griffin of Oregon, grandchildren; A.J. Griffin, Celyssa Martz, Courtney Griffin, Rugar Griffin, Jennifer Thomason, Ashley Shannon, Amanda McCarty, Amber Griffin, Areil Griffin, Issac Griffin, William Griffin, Kaitlyn Griffin, Tyler Brown, Tayler Brown, Tanner Brown, Mary Jo Griffin, Michael Griffin, Eric Griffin and Melody Griffin, Whitney Clark, Thomas Clark, great-grandchildren; Bentley Brown, McKinlee  Brown, Tara Griffin, Ethan Griffin, Miley Cruz,  Hayleigh Martz, Zander Martz, Asher Shannon and Jaya Warrior, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Family night was held from 6-8p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers. Funeral Service were held at 2p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers with Donny Day officiating.  Interment followed at Darwin Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers. Pallbearers included Scott Hamilton, John Hamilton, Greg Henegar, Tommy Henegar, Jason Griffin, Clifton Owens and Chris Tree.  Honorary pallbearers were A.J. Griffin, Ashley Shannon, Amanda McCarty, Celyssa Martz, Tyler Brown, Tayler Brown, Tanner Brown, Ruger Griffin, Courtney Griffin and David Wilson.
