I worked with and for Chip at a couple of robot companies and considered him a friend and mentor. News of his passing reached me just a few days ago, nearly 5 years after his passing (yeah, we engineers don't stay in touch very well but when we do reunite it's like no time has passed). It's just shocking because I remember Chip being full of life, humor, wisdom and humanity. I'm grateful to have known you Chip...RIP buddy.

Lynn, Lauren, and Ryan,
I was shocked and devastated to hear about Chip. He was the "most alive" person I have EVER known! Always full of energy and never still. I just can't imagine this world without him in it. The years
I worked for him at Robicon were some of the best of my life and he was an awesome person and friend. I can't begin to express my sorrow for your family and this tremendous loss. Please know you are in our prayers always. We are so sad for you. Love always,
Margie Starr and the Starr Family

Lynn & Family,

A very belated "sorry for your loss" from me. For some reason I had Chip on my mind the last few days and was trying to find him on line. I was slammed hard with the notice that he had passed away earlier this year. I worked for Chip at Robicon Corp for a number of years and was his right hand there. I had the greatest respect for him and how he approached and treated people he interfaced with on a daily basis. He was a good friend and colleague. The world is a whole less fun with him gone. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Dear Lynn,

You know how close Chip and I were all those years ago. So many happy memories. I was so shocked to hear the news today, and so sorry that it was too late to come to the funeral. He was truly one of the best friends I ever had. You and your children are in my prayers. I know you will get through this somehow. If I can ever help you, don't hesitate to ask. We are all fortunate for having Chip in our lives, even if it wasn't long enough.

With love,
Mike

Sending our deepest sympathy to Chips family . Chip touched the lives of everyone he met. Chip coached our girls Izzy and Natalie . He gave them such courage and inspiration. Chip took his time to bring out the talent and confidence in every softball player he coached! You will be deeply missed Chip, by all of your Riot Softball Stars, you helped encourage. Your legacy as a "Softball God" will always live on. Prayers for peace and love .

OMG - CHIP, the 9th Churilla child!!! When speaking of the Hanlons, Chip was the one dad (Bernie) spoke of the most. He made quite an impression on "Uncle Bernie" who shared stories with the family!!! You will be missed in our hearts, our souls and our trips from Minnesota to Pittsburgh. With heartfelt sympathy,

To all of the Hanlon family,
I know Chip from Carrick High and Pitt University. He was a truly unique and brilliant individual with a style and humor like no other. He made me laugh all the time and I will never forget all our lunch hours at Carrick and at the Student Union at Pitt. I Know he cared deeply for his family and everyone loved him. I regret that I could not be in Pittsburgh to give my condolences to his family. He will forever stay in my mind and heart and will never be forgotten. My God help to ease all your sorrow. Know that he was well respected and loved. I will pray for your family. Love you Chippy.

I worked with Chip for several years at Robicon. He was a hard-working guy with tremendous energy, but always had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed his amusing stories and admired his zest for life.
My condolences to Chip's family. I'm sure he will be terribly missed. It's a shame to lose such a great guy in the prime of life.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Hanlon family. I knew Chip in High School and at Pitt and we stayed in touch for a while after. In our younger days, we played football behind Concord Elementary and worked together pumping gas at Best Oil. All of my memories of Chip are good! He was an intense, passionate, enthusiastic, funny, and loyal guy... and really smart too! I'm a better person for having known him and I know he's in Heaven. May your memories of him sustain you and may God bless all of you.

I just can't believe it. I don't know where to begin. Chip and I became very close friends in high school and still kept in touch to this day. Every time I was able to come home he made sure we got together. We talked about old times and laughed until our stomachs hurt even though we told the same stories so many times before. We talked about Carrick Friday night dances, football games at Concord, our trips to Banksville, and the great times we had at Pitt. My sincere condolences to his family and all whose lives he touched. Without a doubt my life was much better because he was a part of it. You will be missed Peep.

Lynn, Lauren, and Ryan, Ann and Family; our deepest condolences. Chip, what a great guy. Always easy to talk to. Good athlete. I remember, as kids, showing him boxing gloves. I coldn't stop him from putting them on to spar with his brother. Driveway basketball and always football passing practice on Lucina St. Then of course his organized sports activities. I hope they like sports on the "other side", cause here comes Chip.

The most wonderful coach and role model I've ever known. You've inspired me to achieve things I never knew I could. God bless you Lynn, Lauren & Ryan.

Chip was a coach for us with the Queen of Diamond's events. A great communicator, organizer and a very structured coach. I had athletes that requested to be on his team. A very kind guy that was willing to give time to all of his athletes in the quest to improve their game. What a great, great guy! He will absolutely be missed!

A Coach, a softball dad, a HS team scorebook keeper, the passing of Chip Hanlon a shock to us. I want to assure you his spirit lives on well. He taught our daughters how to be young women excelling with purpose, Play with passion, but remain a good sport. Finish strong. We know our daughter, a college senior softball athlete would love to dedicate her next season to him and continue to aim to instill her teammates with a sense of continuity from her past coach, through her, to them. Perhaps someday that will motivate them to engage personally in preparing young women for a competitive world. If not for his example and influence, Girls quite simply would not have the love for the softball-game. Our heart breaks for your family
