James Hardy Obituary

HELLAM TWP. James I. Hardy, Jr., 63, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at the Select Specialty Hospital of York. He was the husband of Dorothy E. (Forrey) Hardy. Mr. and Mrs. Hardy observed their 41st wedding anniversary on December 31, 2010. Jim was born in West York, on March 3, 1948, the son of the late James I. Hardy, Sr. and Helen (Bingaman) Hardy. He was a retired electrician with York International and a 1966 graduate of West York High School. Jim was a member of the 25 Year Club of York International. He and his wife attended Stony Brook Mennonite Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James I. Hardy, III of York and Adam Hardy of Hellam; a daughter, Megan Hardy of Hellam; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Margaret Fogle and Janet Runk of York. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2011, at Stony Brook Mennonite Church, 15 Locust Grove Road, York, with Pastor James Heindel officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Penn State Hershey Transplant, Attn: Gail Frankle, 500 University Drive, Mail Code H062, Hershey, PA 17033.
