James Hartsuff Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 11, 2020.
James A Hartsuff passed away peacefully June 9, 2020 at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, Michigan. He was surrounded by the love of his family, after a nine month battle with cancer. Through all this, his wonderful wicked sense of humor kept us all aware of his zest for life and to cherish the moments we have with each other.

Jim is survived by his loving wife; Barbara. Cherished daughters; Stacie (James) Norton and Jennifer Hartsuff. Loving grandson; Keller, Siblings; Robert (Susan) Hartsuff and Debbie Hartsuff, Sister and Brother-in-laws; Jacqueline (Jack) Green, Gayle (Keith) Christiansen and Vicki (Garmin) Ingram. Jim was also survived by 10 nieces and nephews as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; William and Karen (Berryhill) Hartsuff and his eldest brother and sister-in-law; William (Bill) & Deborah (Rose) Hartsuff.

Barb and Jim were the love of each other's lives. First meeting in school when Barb was 14 and Jim was 17 they went their separate ways after high school. Later, they found each other again and were happily married for 14 years. He always called Barb "my beautiful bride". Barb always said he was the best husband ever. Jim's family was his life. Jim was the most loving, understanding Dad and so very proud of his 2 daughters; Stacie and Jenni. Keller his grandson was the light of his life and loved spending time together. Jim enjoyed the great outdoors fishing, boating and hunting a passion he also shared with his father and brothers growing up. Jim had a close relationship with his parents and siblings growing up. The best of times were spent up north with his family, friends and fur kids. Jim was employed by Troy Design and Manufacturing (TDM) in Plymouth as a purchasing manager/agent until his death. Although our hearts are immeasurably broken, we know Jim will be with us always. Our love for him is undying, just as his love for us has always been. He will be dearly missed until we meet again. Please keep us in your prayers.

James Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to the pandemic.

Dear family of Jim Hartsuff,
My family lived on Butterfield Road near the Hartsuff family and over time my parents became friends with Bill and Kay. My sisters and I would babysit the Hartsuff children when asked.
I'm so very sad to hear of your loss and pray for healing and strength as you all go forward.
My younger sister Wilma was good friends with Jim's younger brother. Our family had six daughters and of course we liked meeting all the boys in the neighborhood.
With many fond memories of growing up with the Hartsuff family, I send my deepest sympathy to you and the entire family.
With prayers and love,
One of the Sutherland daughters.
