James Healy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 16, 2021.
It is with great sadness that the family of James Powers Healy announces his passing on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 56. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jim was the son of Joan Healy and the late Francis Healy. Jim fought a courageous battle against cancer and died in the city that he loved -- Paris. Jim graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island, NY and the University at Buffalo. He enjoyed a long and successful career at GE as their Chief Communication Officer. Jim lived his life with an incredible enthusiasm that was both undeniable and contagious. He loved and cherished his family and friends. An avid reader of history, Jim was also passionate about traveling, sailing, biking, and ice hockey and more recently, European football (soccer) and all things French, especially the food! Jim had a zest for life that is both rare and admirable; he never took anything in life for granted. Jim had a personality that could fill any space in all positve ways and when you spotted him across the room, you knew he would have a good story to share. Jim loved and was loved by so many people around the world. Jim will be remembered fondly as always "having fun", laughing, and living life to the fullest. And like him, even his ring tone — "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" — called out with positivity. Jim is survived by his loving wife Kelly, his mother Joan Healy of Troy, PA, his brothers, Kenneth (Kristie) Healy of Williamsport, PA, Peter (Bonnie) Healy of Elmira, NY, his sister, Cathy (Christian) Vollmann of Weathersfield, VT, his nieces Mercedes (Ryan) Palmer, Ashley (Tye) Sheets, Tara Healy, Caitlin Vollmann and Aimee Vollmann and nephews Sean Healy and Patrick Vollmann, and his dear, beloved dog Felicé. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife Kim Benzin and his father Francis Healy. A service celebrating Jim's life was held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Eglise Notre-Dame de Grace de Passy, Paris, France. Memorial donations for colon cancer research may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital or Institut Gustave Roussy.

Kelly, Dad (Mark Carroll) just called and told me of your loss, I am so deeply sorry for you. He is distraught as he wants to talk with you and is frustrated that none of the numbers he has are working. If you would be so kind, please email [email protected], you have always held a special place in his heart. Thank you, and again, condolences on your loss, Vicki.
