Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 11, 2025.
James A. "Jim" Healy, 57, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2025. Jim was born on February 3, 1967 in Jamestown, NY to Eugene and Marilyn Healy. He grew up on Chautauqua Lake in Western New York. Jim earned his Eagle Scout from Boy Scouts of America in 1982, and graduated as Salutatorian of the Maple Grove High School class of 1985. He then graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1989 with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. Early on, he found his true calling in computer programming. Jim lived in Los Altos, CA and worked in Silicon Valley for his entire career, mainly with Oracle. Recently, he was the assistant scoutmaster for BSA, Troops 31 and 76 which his sons participated in. He was also a lifelong animal lover.

He was pre-deceased by his mother, father and an infant brother. Jim is survived by his wife Rita, beloved sons Andy and Steven, siblings Eric, Brian (Sally), and Cathy (Antoinette), and several nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private. Donations can be made to the animal shelter of your choice.

Mr. Healy was the sweetest man. I will never forget when Parker and Steven decided to cut all the sprinkler lines as a way to entertain themselves and he didn´t make a big deal of it. My husband says he always looked forward to seeing Jim at the scout meetings to stand and talk with him. It´s a major loss to this world. Why do the good ones always leave us too soon? RIP sending hugs to you all.
