James Hebert III Obituary

James Paul Hebert III, known affectionately as Jim, passed away on August 18, 2023, in Missouri City, Texas, at the age of 80. Born on May 28, 1943, in Natchez, Mississippi, Jim led a life marked by devotion to his family and country.

Jim proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. His military career was distinguished and filled with the honor befitting an officer of his standing.

He pursued higher education at Louisiana State University, where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, and attained his undergraduate in Political Science and his master's in Business Administration. His academic and professional achievements were only matched by his commitment to his faith, actively participating in the Church community.

Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by his spouse, Barbara (Bobbie) Bracewell Hebert; daughter, Robyn Hebert Gere (Andrew); stepchildren, Roger C. Blanchard (Margaret) and Natalie Blanchard aka Francie; brothers, Dan Hebert (Eilleen) and Roy Hebert; sister, Mary Lillian Ellis (Curtis); grandchildren, Jordan, Cameron, Tyler, Hannah, and Hallie; great-grandson, Lucas Blanchard; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. Hebert Jr. and Mary Lillian; daughter, Lynn Cherie Hebert; and brother, Grady Hebert.

An avid traveler and music enthusiast, Jim relished the moments spent journeying with his family, watching football games of his beloved LSU and Washington Redskins, liking the New Orleans Saints football and enjoying jazz music.

Services will be held at Fort Myer Old Post Chapel, 204 Arlington Ave, Fort Myer, VA 22211 at Jan 27, 2025 at 11:00 am EST. Jim will be laid to rest at with his daughter, Cherie at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, honoring his significant contributions to his nation.
