HOOVER - James F. Hoover, aged 93, of Byron Center, went to be with his Lord on Monday, January 19, 2004. He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Rebecca Sweet. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Lillie Mae (Dafoe) Hoover; his daughter, Barbara (Herald) Sweet; his grandchildren, Kent (Donna) Sweet, Deborah (Thomas) Mitchell, and Kevin (Clara) Sweet; and his great-grandchildren, Jennifer (Jack) Sutherby, Daniel Mitchell USMC, Beth Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Aaron Mitchell, Mary Ann Sweet, and David Sweet. The funeral service will be held Thursday 3 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home (2067 - 84th), Byron Center. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Flint Faith Missionary Church or Brown City Missionary Camp. Sorry to learn of Bro. Hoover's "Home Going". Feron and Lillie were among the first to welcome our family to Flint and to the Hamilton Avenue Mennonite Bretheren In Christ Church nearly seventy years ago. Many Thanks.
