James Hoven Obituary
Jim graduated from Northwest School in Hotel Management. He managed many large scale hotels in IL, MN and Jamaica. While working in the travel industry, Jim toured 19 different countries and planned 57 cruises to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation. He was an active volunteer fundraiser for The Special Olympics, International Animal Rescue, Coalition for the Homeless and Alzheimer's Associations. In addition, he was a tennis pro and a coach for youth basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis and football. His active life was one well lived.
Jim is survived by his children; Jamie (Mark) Hein, Dan (Jaci) Hoven, Andrew Hoven, Lashaun Hoven and Anne Marie Martin in addition to 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Craig Jensen, 3 nephews and 1 niece.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Suzy Hoven and Sandy Jensen.
A private service is being arranged for the family. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Jim was my brother in law. He married my sister Pat in 1976 in Rochester Minnesota. They lived in Rochester Minnesota, Canon City Colorado and Englewood Florida.

Just saw this. Jim and i were best friends /roommates at Rochester JC. Many good times were had!! Sad to hear of his passing. Warren Majerus, Plainview FB rival(always superior to Zumb.!) Salt Lake, sugar Grove IL.

So many fun memories of my cousin Jim. He was Homecoming King his senior year and had his leg in a cast from a football injury. My sympathies to all his family. He was known as Pinkie all though high school.
