James E. Hundley,78, of Kokomo, passed away at 12:04 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Community Howard Regional Health Hospital.
James was born in Kokomo on July 14, 1937 to the late Lowell and Agnes Stashyck Hundley.
He married Barbara J. Kinney on April 18, 1959 in Kokomo. James retired from Chrysler after 42 years of service and served in the Indiana National Guard for 16 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling (He had 2 sanctioned games scoring 300), gold panning, and feeding all animals domestic and wild. James chartered a yacht named "Barbie's Bounty" on Lake Michigan. He loved God, his family, and his country.
James is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Hundley; children, James J. (Peggy) Hundley of Texas, Roberta J. (Dennis) Nutter of Kokomo, and Sherry (Brett) Mendenhall of Tipton; grandchildren, Rusty Prince, Beau (Jessica) Mendenhall, and Shane (Amy) Mendenhall; step-grandchildren, Brayton Mendenhall, Adrienne (Nic) Mendenhall, Melinda Nutter, Stephanie Nutter, and Angie Nutter.
James is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Mark Hundley.
Family and friends may call today from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel.
Military honors will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. by the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team.
In keeping with James's wishes cremation is planned following the service.
