In Loving Memory of James W. Irey, born June 3 1947 and who passed through the veil on December 24 2018. Son of Esther Holmes Irey and Frederick Irey, who are deceased. James is survived by his wife of 46 years Linda J. Irey of Homestead, FL. Five Children; Daughter Kim Irey Smiley of Daytona Beach, Florida, Daughter Tana Irey Smeltzer married to Wayne Smeltzer of Thomasville, PA, Son Douglas Irey and good friend Brandon Hobbs of Holladay, Utah, Daughter Sharon Irey Dominguez married to Angel Dominguez of Groveland, FL. Son Daniel Irey married to Tawnie Johnson Irey of North Salt Lake, Utah. Brother Richard Irey married to Diane Russell Irey of Loa, Utah, Stepmother Stella Saltas and Brothers; John Saltas, Steve Saltas, Terry Saltas. Sister Paula Saltas Mason, 14 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

James served in the United States Air Force for 16 years as an aircraft mechanic on the B52, C-5, F4 and F16 aircrafts. He was also a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served four tours in Southeast Asia. He also worked for the Ryder Corporation in Miami, FL after retiring from the Unites States Air Force Reserves. United States Military Honors will be presented at the Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513 on Wednesday January 9th 2019 at 2PM.

James was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Bishop of the Homestead Florida Ward for over 9 years, during which time Homestead was devastated by Hurricane Andrew in 1992. He loved helping and serving people and his influence for good has impacted many who knew him. May you rest from your labors and trials in this life and enjoy your peaceful reward for having endured with honor to the end. We will surely miss you and look forward to seeing you again in the Eternities. All my Love, Linda.
