JAMES WILLIAM "JIMMY" IRVING

James "Jimmy" William Irving passed peacefully from this life and into the arms of Jesus on the morning of April 14, 2011. He was born in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey and grew up in Weatherford, Texas. He moved to Concord, New Hampshire for several years and finally moved to Florida to be near his father. Jimmy had a love for his family, fishing, horses and cars. As a young man, Jimmy served his country in the Marine Corp. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church in DeLand, FL where he served in the choir and worked effortlessly cooking for many functions. Jimmy is survived by his father and mother, James C. and Linda L. Irving; four brothers (and spouses) Mike Keeley (Tina), James C. Irving, Jr. (Ami), Gordon Scott Irving (Amanda) and William Irving (Angie); sister (and spouse) Kathy Keeley Sears (Jeff); stepsons, Tom, Chris, and Alex O'Connor; daughter-in-law, Caitlyn O'Connor; granddaughter, Maria. Jimmy is also survived by ten nephews and nieces and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Antonia. A memorial fund has been set up in the name of James Irving at the Prosperity Bank in DeLand. Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand is in charge of arrangements.
