Tears are not shed for the dead or dying; they are shed for the living who remain to go on with their lives and keep memories of their loved ones alive.

Cry tears of sorrow for what you will miss, and what might have been;

Cry tears of joy and laughter knowing you will meet again.

My sympathy to all of you at this time of sorrow.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Be comforted in knowing your Dad had a long and productive life. When you tell stories, talk of the good, and the not so good times. Your memories will keep him with you in the coming days. And, when you least expect it, he will be in your thoughts and bring tears and laughter. He will live on in your children and grandchildren. Take care.

James Jamieson was my Great Uncle on my mother's side of the family. I owe a lot to this man, for you see in many ways I feel that I would not be here if it weren't for him. Both he and my mom grew up in Northern Ireland. He came to the the United States and established citizenship, and then in 1954 my mom came over to the U.S. and he sponsored her before she became a citizen. So in some ways, if it were not for him, my mother may not have come to the U.S. and met my father. Last but not least, James Jamieson played a significant role in my childhood. After retiring from working in the grocery store he owned, he decided to find other work. That work was driving a bus for Pittsburgh's Easter Seals' Society. I went to Easter Seals in Pittsburgh as a young child, and James Jamieson was my bus driver. My favorite memory is of him stopping by a local 7-11 everyday, buying us both candy and then dropping me of at my mom's to have tea with her and talk of the old days in Ireland. I love you Uncle James and will miss you.
