James Jerome "Jerry" Toomey Obituary

James Jerome Toomey "Jerry", age 76, was born on October 10, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Erwin and Elma Toomey and passed away March 6, 2015 in Crossville. He was an analyst for Ford Motor Company and also served in the Army. He enjoyed golfing and was in the Grady Group Golf League. He was a Starter Ranger for Druid Hills. He ushered at the Cumberland County Playhouse and in earlier years at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Although he enjoyed travelling, he recently found going on cruises was particularly high on his list.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Tighe Toomey; children, Jim Toomey, Jeff (Tina) Toomey, and Julie (Chris) Yeskie; grandchildren, Kristin, Nicholas, Nathan, Katelyn, and Rachel; siblings, Don Toomey and Eileen Hauser; and dog, Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin Toomey and Elma Frantz Toomey; siblings, Jack Toomey, Bob Toomey, and Rosemary Dunn.

The funeral Mass will take place at St. Kenneth Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 12:30 pm with Fr. George Charnley officiating. Friends may visit the church beginning at 12:00pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to The Michigan Humane Society, 900 N Newburgh Rd, Westland, MI 48185 or Guardian Angel Animal Rescue, PO Box 511309, Livonia, MI 48151.
