James L. "Jimmy" Jewell CEDAR BLUFF, Va. James L. "Jimmy" Jewell, age 65, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011. He was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Warren, Ohio and is the son of Ollena Jewell Sisk and the late Roy Jewell. He was a retired coal miner from Jewell Ridge Coal Company. He was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his love of nature, his gentle laugh and his quiet strength. He was the best father and friend any man could ever be! In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving children, Henry Jewell of Cedar Bluff, Marcus Jewell of Cedar Bluff, Julene Jewell Dunford of Richlands, Roy Jewell and wife, Kristy of Richlands; grandchildren, Erin Dunford, Maddie Dunford, Elijah Dunford, Peyton Jewell, Emma Jewell and Noah Jewell; one brother, Charles Roy Jewell of Highland Springs, Va.; two step-sisters, Cynthia Hagy and husband, Jerry of Bristol, Va. and Deborah Frantzich and husband, Gordon of King George, Va.; nieces and nephews, Denise Jewell, Michael Cline, Rene Hagy Matusevich, Leslie DeBusk, Lydia Whiteside, Catlin Frantzich, Neil Farmer and Laura Tucker. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, with Marcus Jewell, Pastor Craig Barber and Pastor Bill Keele officiating. Burial will follow in the White Mountain Cemetery at Jewell Valley, Va. Pallbearers will be Buddy Fuller, Howie Fuller, Ronnie D. Jewell, Carmon Randolph, Larry Arnold and Roger Hankins. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Jewell, Mack Keene, Cubert White, Tom Cole, Gary Mullins, Eugene Mullins and Loyal Cole. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Singleton Funeral Service at Cedar Bluff.
