A long time ago, before we moved to Maine, we met Jimmy and his family at the store in Waltham. For years our summers were built around returning and seeing them again. Now that we live in Maine those memories are refreshed every time we see Eastbrook and the camp on Molasses Pond. Jimmy was a great man, a good man, a measure of what it means to be a great human being. We miss him.

Would just like to say I am thinking of the Jordan family in this time of need. Jordan's Snackbar is one of a kind and so was Jimmy. Always made sure you had everything you needed and yes, the place was spotless. It sure will be different there, but I will always remember his smile, the great food, and all of the wonderful workers at Jordan's Snackbar. May peace be with you.

My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Jordan and her sons, as well as Jimmy's extended family. You are all better people for having had such a wonderful husband/father in your life. Remember, behind every great man is a great woman and obviously Mrs. Jordan, you were a wonderful wife.

I was introduced to Jordans Snack Bar, when I came to Ellsworth 12 years ago. It has been a place we had to visit almost weekly during the summer months. Whenever we were there, we frequently saw Jimmy running around cleaning, straightening out tables, and he had the place Spican Span clean, all the time. We'll miss seeing him around there from now on out, but I'm sure he trained you all quite well!

Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time.

Jimmy will be missed dearly. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family during the time.

Tears from Heaven
When someone loses someone,
we tell them not to cry,
that life will still go on
without a reason why.
If God were to come down from heaven
and see lone tear fall,
I know he’d say it’s okay
and it’s the love that we recall.
God wants us to remember
all the good times that we shared.
Tears don’t erase them memories.
They remind us that they’re there.
So don’t stop yourselves from crying
Over someone that you love,
As long as you remember
that they’re safe now up above.

April 26, 2010

To all the Jordon family, Just want you to know your family will be in our prayers during this tragic loss for you. We will always remember a particular day last summer eating at Jordon's and it was a little slow, which was very unusual, and Jimmy was cleaning tables in his usual fashion but this time with one arm in a sling. He actually pulled up a chair and talked with us for a while and shared with a grin that he had fallen off his bike in the yard!! We had a great visit with him and kidded that the sling did not slow him down a bit. He was still cleaning tables faster than most people with both hands. It will not be the same but we will be back in memory of Jimmy.
God will supply the Grace you will need to continue. Share memories of Jimmy often and in this way it will help you all. Remember tears are a language God understands and laughter is a great healer. See you this summer with a smile full of love. God Bless you all.

Dear Carol & Family,
Please accept our most heartfelt condolences. We were crushed to hear of your loss and have since struggled to think of how we might express our support yto you in this time of loss ans sorrow. Jimmy was an incredible human being- a great husband, father, friend, a pillar of the community-of numerous communities. He changed Ellsworth in a positive way -like no other. He brought a sense of community we would not otherwise have here- that was unequaled. Every year a grateful community awaited the return of the snack bar fare, the playground, the music, the game room, the friends, the sense of community... Jimmy and your family as a whole-gave a great gift to all of us. We know there are no words that can lighten your sorrows. There are no actions that can make this very sad event go away. But it is our prayer that some peace may be found in the knowledge that people here at home and half a world away support you in your grief, recognize the magnitude of Jimmy's contributions in this world, and hold you all up in our prayers. If there is anything we can do -large or small- to support, assist, or comfort you-please ask. Do not hesitate to ask. You have done for others-let others do for you. God Bless you all.

Dear Carol and family,If we are lucky in our life, sometimes we will meet a couple that exemplifies all that is good in this world. They set an example by the way they live and treat each other. They set an example by the way they treat everyone they come in contact with. They are honest, kind, hard working, and their love for one another, and family always shines through in everythin they do. That's what Jimmy and Carol Jordan represented to me, and to so many others.May that love, and all of the goodness that you bestowed on so many be returned to you tenfold in this very sad time Carol. Please accept our deepest sympathy, and know that you and your family are in our prayers.
