James Kerber Obituary
Jim was born on May 6, 1932 in Buffalo, New York, the son of Roman J. Kerber and Antoinette C. Kerber. He married Sarah M. Kennedy on November 8, 1952 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springfield, Illinois.
Jim served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign. Jim was an executive in the life insurance industry for more than 35 years. He spent over 20 of those years in Denver as a senior executive with Holding Corporation of America, ICH Corporation and Life Partners Group. He ended his career as President of Southwestern Life Insurance Company in Dallas.
Jim married Lynda Edwards on July 8, 2008 at Church of the Risen Christ in Denver, Colorado.
His wife of 48 years, Sarah Kerber; and one brother, Donald Kerber, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Edwards Kerber of Englewood, Colorado; son, Dennis (wife, Debbie) Kerber of Mequon, Wisconsin; two daughters, Jean Steel (husband Anthony) and Karen Moser; son, Timothy Kerber (wife Tiffany) all of Centennial, Colorado; nine grandchildren, Justin Kerber, Carissa (husband Matthew) Wilson, Erin (husband Mark) Hungsberg, Ryan Moser, Katherine and Elizabeth Steel, Kennedy, Delaney and Jackson Kerber; three great-grandchildren, James and Gemma Wilson, Hudson Hungsberg; sister, Carol Ferrer of Burr Ridge, Illinois; and brother, Ken (wife Caron) Kerber of Springfield, Illinois.
Jim enjoyed sports (especially golf); a good novel; and his home on Sand Key Island in Florida. Jim was a loving family man as well as a person who touched many people's lives in the most positive way. Family and friends have consistently commented, Jim was the rock of the Kerber family and the most generous man they had ever known.

Those of you who would like to, may offer Mass for Jim at your parish. Please also make a donation in Jim's name to the above mentioned charity. Arrangements were handled by Olinger Hampden Mortuary.

Denny, Jean, Karen, Tim and Jim's loving wife. I share your grief with Jim's passing. I want to remember the good times when Jim and I were in Cathedral Boys High School and lived next door to each other in Springfield, IL. Both of us when we were seniors were editors of the year book. I am sorry I can't be there, but I will always remember Jim and I believe he is watching over us as we speak.
