James Killius Obituary

KILLIUS – James Roger, 75, of Springs, Pa., died Monday, May 5, 2008, at Meyersdale Medical Center, Meyersdale. Born Oct. 12, 1932, in Springs, he was the son of the late Walter and Loveta (Ash) Killius. He was preceded in death by one sister, Nonna Jean Beitzel. Mr. Killius was a truck driver, retiring after more than 44 years’ service. He was a member of New Testament Baptist Church; Teamsters Union Local 771, Lancaster; and Teamsters Union Local 249, Pittsburgh. He also taxied the Amish in the Springs area. Surviving are his wife, Vera Mae (Eash) Killius; two sons, Walter Leroy Killius, and wife, Regina, and Dwight Dean Killius, both of Lancaster; two daughters, Deborah Denise Koring, and husband, Clifford, New Stanton, and Donna Louise Ash, and husband, Melvin B., New Holland, Pa.; two sisters, Joyce Brenneman, and husband, Harley, Bittinger, Md., and Gay Brownlee, Harrisonburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, James, Craig, Kyle, Steven, Kimberly, Nathan, Cordell and Evan; and one great- grandson, Steven Jr. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Springs Mennonite Church, with Pastor Tony Wilburn officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment, Springs Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to New Testament Baptist Church, 710 Dung Hill Road, Grantsville, Md. 21536 or Home Nursing Agency, 118 Ebony Road, Suite 200, Ebensburg, Pa. 15931.
