We are devastated to announce the passing of James Earl King Jr. suddenly on March 16, 2023, at the age of 41. He was long time resident of Franklin, IN. James was born July 14, 1981, in Houston, Texas to James Earl King, Sr. And Theresa (Clark) King. James was a loving Father, Son, Uncle, and Friend to all that knew him. He is survived by his parents James, Sr. and Threasa King of Houston, Texas; wife Jennifer King; daughters Maleigha Jasper and LaQuicea King; with a large extended family; He was preceded passing by his sister, LaQuicea King.
James was a 2000 graduate of Franklin Community High School. He worked for Marty Laney, Inc. - Atlas Steel as a Supervisor/Welder.
James was open-hearted, fun, loving, patient, a protecter, understanding, forgiving, and always open-minded. Never placing judgement on anyone. He was laid back and had an easy-going nonjudgement demeanor that made him relatable and caused you to gravitate toward him. His smile was contagious. James's famous saying, “just keep real”. He loved his family, but his kids, nieces, and nephews were his world. When he wasn’t working, attending one of the girls' basketball games or refereeing games, he loved cooking, watching football and basketball. His passion was cooking. He loved cooking for everyone. He loved tomatoes.
Visitation for Family and Friends will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a celebration of life service for James, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street (U.S. 31) in Franklin. Following the service, a meal for family and friends will be at the Indiana Masonic Home, Compass Park in the Community Center at 690 S. State Street, Franklin, Indiana 46131.
