I woke up today thinking about Jimmy, and I always laugh at the last stupid, but funny, joke he told me. Then, this email came saying I could add to his guest book. I miss him - his bravery, his humor, his love of life. I know he´s with us all. I loved him.

I've just heard this news and I'm devastated. Jen, I can't imagine how you must be feeling, I'm so truly sorry for your loss. Jim knew how to light up a room, he was funny, compassionate and just a truly decent man. A rare breed. It was a pleasure and an honour to know Jim, he was always an inspiration.. and a smartypants! I'll miss his fun but I know my life is richer for knowing him and I'm sitting here now trying, not to write war and peace.. and grinning. You can't think of Jim and not grin. Can there be a better legacy for us?

Although I only crossed paths twice with Jim at the alternative clinic in the Bahamas, he did indeed light up a room. He shared his knowledge with all the other patients. He will be greatly missed. Heaven is brighter for his presence, I'm sure. Jim was truly a good, good man.

I met Jim at the St. Patrick's Day celebration at Dukes and found him hysterical. He had on this huge leprechaun hat. Jim could always make me laugh, even if he wasn't feeling 100%. I saw him around Lankenau and the gym from time to time and we would catch up on things. I am sure he is cracking everyone up in heaven. Jim, you will be missed. God Bless you Jen and Gavin. You were the light of Jim's life. He will surely be taking care of you from above.

My heart and sincere condolences go out to Jen, Gavin, Ron, Sue and the entire Lafferty family for your great loss. Jim, Jen and I met in the Bahamas in October 2006. We spent nearly two months there together as part of an alternative treatment program for cancer. Jim lit up a room, no doubt. He lit up the whole clinic; even the sickest of patients were caught laughing in Jim's presence. During his first stay and our several return visits, he reached out to support other patients (mere strangers) as if he had known them for years. His personality, humor and attitude took him a very long way. I'm personally inspired to be a better person because of Jim. I'll always remember the black t-shirt he wore. In big white letters it simply read "I'm Kind of a Big Deal". You betcha, Jim! We all love you and miss you dearly. We are blessed to have known you, and you will be carried in our hearts forever.

Dear Sue and Ron,
What a tragic loss you have suffered. Your Jim was a very special man as was shown by the love expressed at the Mass today.
If it's any consolation, you must know that this very special person left a wonderful mark on everyone that he met in his short life.

Thank you Jim for your friendship. You were a great listener and friend.
I still to this day tell people about my drum lessons in the Gorge of Withey (basically a storage room) - before it is what the kids know now.

Jim you were a good friend and you always made me laugh. We had some good times on our drives home from college. I admired your strength and courage during this long and difficult journey. I am forever grateful for getting to see you right before thanksgiving. When I asked you if you were tired of fighting, you said sometimes but I chose to fight this thing. Well Jim, you fought harder then anyone could have fought. You and your family should be proud. But you were taken way to young and I will miss you! rest in peace.
