James Adair Linton

James Adair Linton, 75, of Waco, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Providence Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Joseph F. Geleney Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Jim was born in Carlisle to John M. and Lola (Allen) Linton. He served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in Economics. He had a long career with the federal government in banking and finance, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1358, and Assembly 1109. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his wife, Gloria Scoggins Couch Linton; two sons, Kenneth Lee Linton and wife, Belen, of Dallas, and Patrick Allen Linton of Bryan; step-son, Steven Couch and wife, Katherine, of St. Louis, Mo.; step-daughter, Susanne Couch Wills and husband, Mike, of Fulton, Mo.; brother, John Robert Linton and wife, Faye, of Huntsville; and grandchildren, Rockton Tyler Linton, Margot Simone Linton, Evan Couch, Austin Couch, Courtney Couch, Alyssa Wills and Jacob Wills. The Knights of Columbus will serve as honor guard and pallbearers. The family would especially like to thank all the caregivers at Providence Medical Center, especially the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus, American Heart Association, St. Louis Catholic Church, or St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
