James "Jim" Loane, 83, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother and Friend
James "Jim" Loane, 83, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025 in Henderson Nevada, with his son Jimmy at his side. He spent his final days doing what he had always done best, caring for others, ensuring his beloved wife Linda had a joyful Mother's Day, and sharing words of love and gratitude with his children and grandchildren.
Born in Philadelphia on March 25, 1942, Jim met the love of his life, Linda, at the bank where they both worked. Married for 49 years, Linda remembers him as handsome, funny, warm, and welcoming, qualities that made both colleagues and customers feel seen and valued. His easygoing nature and sincere interest in others set the tone for a life filled with deep connections and enduring friendships.
Jim dedicated nearly 50 years to a career in banking, where he was known not only for his lending expertise but also for his humor, frequently introducing customers to his "kids: Mortgage, Student, and GI Loan[es]." Though his professional accomplishments were many, his legacy was most evident in how he uplifted those around him.
A natural leader with a heart for service, Jim volunteered in his later years at a senior center, calling bingo and serving meals. At his memory care residence, he was affectionately dubbed "the Mayor" for his commitment to welcoming new residents, helping those with more advanced dementia, and even springing into action during a medical emergency.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Jim and Linda raised their family in West Chester, where they served together on the board of Care Center for Christ. In every community they joined, the Loanes became known for their hospitality, hosting parties for Scout troops, sports teams, and neighborhood children. Their home was a warm and lively gathering place, especially during holiday celebrations.
After retiring, Jim and Linda traveled the country in their RV with their rescue dog Mocha. Whether camping in the mountains or walking through a campground, Jim's knack for making friends ensured that each stop brought new stories and new relationships. Upon settling in Tucson in October 2004 and later relocating to Las Vegas in March 2015, Jim continued to cherish family time and add to his ever-growing circle of friends. He even adopted a new team, the Vegas Golden Knights, into his already robust sports fan rotation.
Some of Jim's fondest memories in recent years included visits from his high school best friend Dave, daughter Lauri from Florida and sister from North Carolina, reminders of the lifelong bonds he so deeply cherished.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Linda; children Lauri Loane (Chuck Morse), Michele (Cory) Barton, Stacey (Tony) Acri, Jimmy (Nisha) Loane; nine adoring grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother Don (Linda) Loane and sister Linda (Jim) Harris. He will be remembered for his big heart, quick wit, generous spirit, and the joy he brought into every room.
A beautiful Celebration of Life was held on June 28th in
Henderson, NV.
