James Martino Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 11, 2012.
Martino, James V., Jr., 48 of Tampa passed away suddenly on March 11, 2012. Originally from Bethel, CT., Jim moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1996, and he was a builder by trade, although most recently held a marketing position. He had been a culinary owner and restaurant entrepreneur in Connecticut. Jim was always so proud of his Father, a builder, and a World War II Air Force pilot, who's accomplishments he wanted to emulate. He learned to work with his Daddy's tools at a very early age, and later became a self-taught man, who used his creativity to renovate, build, and design many properties and furnishings. Jim was a very compassionate and caring man to all who knew or met him. He had a "gift" of making friends easily, and made you feel like you had already been a friend for life. Though God has called him "home", we will always wonder how life would have been if he was still with us. Our dreams will continue to relive the beautiful memories we have of our beloved and dear son, brother, uncle, godfather, nephew and friend. He was loved by so many, and will be forever missed beyond what words could describe. Jim is survived by his loving and precious mother, Ann T. Martino; 3 sisters Deborah Martino Lewis and her husband Harold, Nancy Martino Crosby and her husband Charles, and Cheryl Martino Harrison and her husband Richard. Nieces and nephews, Christopher(Susan) Lewis, Meghan L. Harrison, Kristin(Bruce)Reliford, Richard J. Harrison and Cameron J. Crosby. 3 great nieces and nephews and a beloved child who was like his own. He was preceded in death by his father, James V. Martino, Sr.. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Services will be held at a later date in CT.

I wish I could have gone to your funeral Poppy. I never got to say goodbye to you. My heart is still broken and I still miss you and think of you everyday but especially today. It's been 5 years ago today that you were ripped away from me. Wish I could visit your grave site and talk to you. I love you and always will.
