James Matika Obituary
Mr. Matika was born in Pittsburgh the son of Dorothy nee Cherich and the late Michael R. Matika, Sr. He was a graduate of Villanova University and had lived in Wallingford for 23 years.
Mr. Matika was the owner of Matika All State Insurance Agency in Philadelphia for 15 years. He also was the former owner of R. P. McMurphy's, The Pennant East, and the Martinque.
He was a member of Rolling Green Golf Club and St. John Chrysostom Church.
Mr. Matika is survived by his wife Michele E. Matika, daughter Sierra and son James M. Matika, his mother Dorothy nee Cherich Matika of Ambridge, PA, sister Paula Quolke (Tom) of Gibsonia, PA, brothers Mark R. (Laura) and Michael R (Lisa) Matika both of Drexel Hill.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. St. John Chrysostom Church 617 S. Providence Rd. Wallingford where friends may call from 9:00 A.M. till 10:45 A.M.

I just found out about Jamie. My prayers go out to his family. My thoughts, prayers and sympathies to the Matika family. I knew Jamie through my brother Mike, I also worked with Jamie for a short time when he first opened his Allstate office in the city. Jamie- Rest in peace my friend. Ive known Jamie since he joined Rolling Green and we shared a lot of great times growing up together and playing golf at RG. Jamie never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was a kind, true friend that enjoyed RG and his friends so much. I'll miss him so much. I met Jamie when he 1st move to wildwood and was the bartender at the Martinique. Had some good times playing basketball in the north wildwood bar league for woodys . i was always trying to hang around with my cousin tommy and him , they were older then me but they let me hang most of the times. Here are my memories. I met Jamie in 1991 I think at Cali's (now Rps) We both were from Western Pa, both like golf, both played football. My golf at a higherlevel than his football. And we hit it off right away. Through all the years of golf and 2 a days as his coach, we still held a bond where we could go for 6 months, but yet pick right back up. I certainly will miss our friendship and great conversations. Hope he saves a tee time for me in the sky. And I will get revenge from all the "beatdowns" he gave me at Rolling Green.
